ABOUT THE FOUNDER
Angelica Jackson-Thomas is from rural Southern Maryland, which she left to attend college at the University of Virginia as a first-generation college student. Of the many countries she visited, her most memorable experience was when she studied Social Enterprise with BRAC and Grameen Bank in Bangladesh. It is there she realized that not enough youth that come from her hometown and social-economic background have the opportunity to study abroad before college and rarely do so once in college causing them to lack in the soft and hard skills gained during intercultural interactions. In addition to working with youth through various organizations, she has, since, worked professionally as a theatre actress and with talented yet underserved entrepreneurs in several programming capacities.
